Doha, Qatar – Twelve flight passengers of Qatar Airways were injured by turbulence in the plane they were boarding.
Flight QR017 was traveling from Doha to Dublin when it was hit by the said turbulence.
However, the plane landed safely at Dublin airport where it was immediately met by the airport police and fire and rescue department.
The airport said all passengers were thoroughly checked for minor injuries, of which eight were taken to the hospital.
Although these turbulence-related fatalities are rare, incidents have been increasing over the years.
Which some meteorologists and aviation analysts note that incidents are increasing and pointed to the potential impact of climate change on flight conditions.
