Quezon Province – Two Districts in the Province of Quezon, including Lucena City are subject to a state of calamity following the damage which is bringing by typhoon Aghon.
The Lucena City public information office earlier declared a state of calamity this Monday, based on the resolution of the city council. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has recommended that 2 districts of Quezon province be placed under a state of calamity.
The following areas are under a state of calamity:
1st District: Tayabas City, Pagbilao, Lucban, Sampaloc, Mauban, Real, Infanta, General Dakar, Polillo, Panukul, Bordeaux, Patnanungan, Jomalig
2nd District: Lucena City, Candelaria, Dolores, San Antonio, Sariaya, Tiaong
Authorities said several municipalities were ravaged by the typhoon after Aghon changed course and made its ninth landfall in Patnanungan.
As of Monday, May 27, the Quezon PDRRMO has listed 3,638 families or more than 15,000 individuals affected by Aghon.
The typhoon destroyed 27 houses and partially damaged 400 houses in 156 affected barangays.
