2 PCG VESSELS DEPLOYED IN BDM AFTER CHINA’s NO TRESPASSING POLICY

MANILA PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) secure the safety of Filipino fishermen in 30.8 Nautical Miles southeast of Bajo De Masinloc (BDM) following the no trespassing policy of
China in the South China Sea on June 16, 2024.

According to PCG Spokesperson, CG Rear Admiral Armando Balilo, Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan ordered the deployment of two agency ships to patrol and ensure the security of Filipino fishermen.

Balilo said, some coast guard personnel talked to the fishermen in the vicinity waters of the BDM and asked about their health conditions as well as their fishing operations.

In accordance with the directive of Commandant Gavan it ensures their safety and will provide security in their fishing activities.

The agency also distributed food and medicines to ensure their supply while onboard.

In this activity, the coast guard deployed BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403) and BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407) where it experienced shadowing by the china coast guard with body number 3106 which is estimated to be 800 yards from its starboard bow during routine maritime patrol, as well as two other CCG vessels in nearby BDM waters.

Meanwhile, BRP Teresa Magbanua continues its maritime operations outside Sabina Shoal and around Palawan, in addition to supporting other government activities.
