2025 NAT’L BUDGET TO BE SIGNED DEC. 30 – PCO

Manila, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to sign the 2025 General Appropriations Bill (GAB) into law on December 30, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) acting Secretary Cesar Chavez announced on Tuesday (December 24).

Chavez confirmed the schedule following the Rizal Day commemorative event. Once enacted, the 2025 GAB will become the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

Initially planned for signing before Christmas, the approval of the P6.352 trillion national budget was postponed to allow the President more time for a thorough review of the proposed legislation.

The delay also comes amid debates over substantial budget cuts to key public services in the final version of the bill.

In a statement December 18, through the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES), President Marcos emphasized the need for a detailed examination of the budget, citing significant revisions made by Congress.

Malacañang received the final printed version of the 2025 GAB on December 20, Chavez noted.
