Manila, Philippines — More adult Filipinos have expressed support and backed President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his administration, says recent OCTA research results.
Based on the Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by OCTA research from January 25-31, 2025, 36% of Filipinos said that they are pro-Marcos.
This percentage is roughly equivalent to around 430 Filipinos out of 1,200 respondents of the survey.
Most of Marcos’ supporters came from Balance Luzon with 47%, followed by the National Capital region with 39%, Visayas with 37%, and only 9% from Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the supporters of the Duterte’s and their political alliance is twice lower than of Marcos’.
Based on the survey, pro-Duterte’s got 18% out of the total respondents.
Mindanao remains to be Duterte’s powerhouse, with 63% of supporters, followed by Visayas with 11%, National Capital Region with 5%, and only 2% from Balance Luzon.
On the other hand, 8% revealed that they support the opposition, with OCTA naming former vice president Leni Robredo, the Liberal Party, and the movements they represent as part of it the opposition.
26% says that they independent and does not support any of the three parties, while 12% opted to not answer.
