5 NEW DPWH UNDERSECRETARIES APPOINTED TO SUPPORT ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN

Manila, Philippines – While the Department of Public Works and Highways remains at the center of the flood control projects scandal, the department is also among the top agencies investigating the corruptions tied with the anomalies.

Amidst the controversy, DPWH secretary Manuel Bonoan resigned from the post and was immediately replaced by then transportation secretary Vince Dizon.

A month since his take-over, Dizon confirms various anomalies tied with the flood control issues inside DPWH.

In his first two weeks, Dizon said that 20 DPWH officials were charged in relation to the flood control scandal.

While DPWH’s investigations remain ongoing, five new department undersecretaries were appointed this week to support Dizon in the anti-corruption drive.

On Monday, Dizon led the oath taking ceremony of the five new undersecretaries, whom President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed.

The new undersecretaries are named as:

  1. Arrey A. Perez, Undersecretary for Operations in charge of Convergence Projects and Technical Services
  2. Arthur V. Bisnar, Undersecretary for Regional Operations
  3. Charles T. Calima Jr., Undersecretary for Special Concerns
  4. Ricardo P. Bernabe III, Undersecretary, Office of the Secretary
  5. Samuel Rufino J. Turgano, Undersecretary for Legal Services

Dizon further revealed that in the succeeding days, PBBM is set to name and appoint new officials, which will then include assisant secretaries.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
