MAKATI RTC ORDERS ARREST OF LEVISTE OVER ALLEGED PUBLIC SERVICE ACT VIOLATION

Manila, Philippines — A Makati Regional Trial Court Branch has released an arrest warrant against Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste over alleged Public Service Act violation.

In a document released by the Makati RTC Branch 235 on October 6, 2026, Leviste was commanded to be arrested by the authorities.

He was being charged with the offense of Public Service Act under Section 25 of Commonwealth Act No. 146, as amended by Republic Act No. 11659.

He can post bail for P72,000.

Leviste left the Philippines on August 2 together with his mother, Senator Loren Legarda.

The Commission on Audit (COA) has flagged a staggering P10.77 billion in uncollected financial obligations tied to 37 terminated solar energy contracts.

Of the obligations demanded from the canceled contracts, P10,389,331,719.44 was attributed to firms under the Leviste-led Solar Philippines umbrella.
