Maricel Soriano Testifies at Senate Investigation on PDEA Leaks

Actress Maricel Soriano appeared before the Senate’s Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, addressing the ongoing investigation into leaked information from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) related to the use of illegal drugs.

Soriano firmly denied any involvement in the matter, stating that she had no knowledge of the alleged documents until they were presented to her.

The actress expressed surprise at receiving an invitation to testify, noting that none of the witnesses could confirm that the leaked information from Jonathan Morales, a former PDEA intelligence officer, had been properly investigated.

Jonathan Morales, who signed the leaked documents, had mentioned both President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Maricel Soriano in connection with illegal drug activity. However, Soriano dismissed any association with these allegations.

The hearing addressed a specific piece of information suggesting that an apartment in Makati City, once owned by Soriano, was used for drug-related activities.

Soriano acknowledged that the property was indeed hers, but clarified that she had sold it in 2012. She couldn’t recall the exact month of the sale.

The leaked PDEA documents mentioned a pre-operation on March 11, 2012, indicating that showbiz personalities and politicians were using drugs at the apartment during that time.

In response to accusations from two former maids that she mistreated and abused them, Soriano denied any wrongdoing.

She emphasized that it would have been impossible for her to harm the two maids, given that they were both present and she was alone.

The actress claimed that the maids left her employment after robbing her, not due to mistreatment.
