Makati City Mayor Abby Binay officially entered the Senate race on Friday by filing her certificate of candidacy.
Binay emphasized her nearly 10 years of experience as a legislator in the House of Representatives before transitioning to local governance in the family stronghold of Makati.
When asked about the upcoming mayoral race in Makati between her sister, outgoing Senator Nancy Binay, and her husband, Congressman Luis Campos, she declined to comment.
However, she did confirm that Campos would be submitting his certificate of candidacy the following day.
Binay also stated that, if elected to the Senate, she plans to focus on revising the local government code to enhance its effectiveness.
