Vietnam — Philippine representative Kayla Jean Carter captivated the audience during the Miss Charm 2024 preliminary competition (December 18) with her stunning national costume designed by Ryan Ablaza Uson.
The figure-hugging ensemble, featuring intricate butterfly sleeves, was inspired by the colors of the Philippine flag and symbolized the nation’s culture, resilience, and values.
Complemented by a golden crown from headpiece designer Louie Gallego, the costume stood out as a tribute to Filipino heritage.
Likewise, Uson shared the deeper meaning behind the design, with blue representing the country’s oceans, red symbolizing the courage and sacrifices of ancestors, gold reflecting resilience, and white embodying peace and unity.
The ensemble was crafted to echo the Miss Charm pageant’s advocacy of promoting tourism, culture, and education.
“The costume is a beacon of the Philippines’ enduring charm and cultural pride, showcasing the nation’s strength and beauty to the world,” Uson remarked.
The Miss Charm 2024 coronation night is happening on December 21st.
