PNP 100% ‘READY’, ON FULL ALERT FOR MAY POLLS

Manila, Philippines — With only four days left before the 2025 National and Local Elections, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has expressed 100% commitment and readiness in providing secured and safe polls in May.

During the activation of the PNP Media Action Center on Wednesday, PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil announced the readiness of the police force that is now already on full alert for the elections.

Marbil revealed that there will be about 163,000 PNP personnel to be deployed in various polling precincts nationwide, highlighting tighter security measures on election areas of concern.

As of May 5,there were already 370 areas in the country that were considered as areas of concerns for the May polls.

Among them, 197 are under the yellow category, 136 under orange, and 35 under the red category.

Aside from the election areas of concern, there are two areas that were placed under COMELEC control due to security risks—namely Datu Odin Sinsuat and Buluan, Maguindanao.

Today, Police Regional Offices already started the send off ceremonies for the deployment of the police forces.

Aside from PNP personnel, there will also be at least 38,000 personnel from various government agencies up for deployment, which will assist in security, traffic, and emergency response matters during the election day.

Marbil added that the PNP Kontra Bigay operations against vote buying activities will also start by May 9.

With this, PNP encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities related to the elections via the PNP E-911 hotline.

On the other hand, Marbil also issued a stern warning to PNP personnel regarding the strict political neutrality of the police officers—in which they should not show and display any form of favor to any candidate and party.
