DOTR VOWS TO PROTECT VIRAL VIDEO UPLOADER AGAINST GV FLORIDA TRANSPORT INC.

Manila, Philippines – In a Facebook post by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the agency vowed to protect the video uploader of the viral GV Florida Bus in the alleged road racing issue.

The DOTR is also ready to provide legal assistance to the viral video uploader.

Transport Secretary Vince Dizon already assured the video uploader that he has nothing to fear, as the DOTr is ready to back him.

“At para po dun sa nag-upload ng video, inassure po natin siya kahapon na siya ay poprotektahan ng gobyerno at magbibigay po tayo ng legal assistance sa kaniya laban dito sa threat ng GV Florida na kasuhan siya,” he said.

(And for the video uploader, we already assured him yesterday that the government is ready to protect him, and we are going to provide legal assistance against the threat of GV Florida to sue him.)

Carlo Carbonel—the uploader of the viral video—has posted an update regarding the issue stating that instead of apologizing, the company even harassed him and is set to file a case against him.

Carbonel also uploaded several images from his dashcam as proof and later added that he would respond to the right forum regarding the speculations that he only edited the video to damage the reputation of the bus company.

He previously stated—in his other Facebook post—that he did not upload the video to cause damage to the GV Florida or to make money out of it because he is not a vlogger.

He added that uploading the video may only serve as a lesson to the drivers’ recklessness.

To recall, 15 bus units of the GV Florida Bus were suspended for a month due to Carbonel’s uploaded viral video, wherein the drivers involved in the incident were also slapped with a 90-day license suspension from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Currently, Euro TV News is still trying to reach Carbonel, but he is still not responding to the team.

The DOTr continues to encourage the public to report and send videos of “abusive and reckless drivers” that put the lives of commuters and road users at risk.

“Gusto rin nating sabihin sa ating mga kababayan na sinabi na mismo ng ating pangulo na lahat ng mga kababayan natin ay ini-encourage nating mag-upload ng mga video pag meron silang nakikitang mga abuso at ‘pag ito ay na-validate ng DOTr, siguradong aaksyunann natin nang mabilis laban do’n sa mga nang-abuso,” Secretary Dizon said.

(We also want to remind the public that our president encourages everyone to upload videos when witnessing an abuse. Then, after a thorough validation by the DOTr, we assure you that we will act immediately against the abusers.) — Shaina Morales, Contributor
