MANILA — Family and friends gathered for a mass in honor of Regal Entertainment matriarch Lily Monteverde before she was laid to rest on Saturday morning in Taguig City.
This solemn occasion comes just a week after the Monteverde siblings buried their father, Remy Monteverde.
In a previous interview, Roselle Monteverde expressed that they had come to terms with their parents’ passing, acknowledging that “they really needed to be at peace na.”
“That is our consolation. We are relieved with that,” she said.
Son Dondon Monteverde also shared, “At least magkasama sila. They are at peace, they are happy together, no more suffering.”
“Mother Lily,” as she was affectionately called, passed away on August 4 at the age of 85.
During the final viewing held before her burial, relatives and close friends, including ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Director Chito S. Roño, Annabelle Rama, and stars Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Maricel Soriano, gathered to pay their respects and bless the remains of the beloved Regal Entertainment matriarch.
