MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Alexa Ilacad recently shared her views on motherhood, saying she doesn’t see herself becoming a mother anytime soon.
At the press conference for her upcoming movie Mujigae, Alexa also expressed support for women who feel the same way.
“I get it! I totally get it. And that’s okay. I think we’re now more open to living our lives the way we want, without fear of being judged by others,” she said.
“You don’t have to pressure yourself into something just because it’s what society expects. In the end, you’re the one who has to live with those choices,” she added.
Alexa stars alongside Korean actor Kim Ji-soo in Mujigae. Reflecting on her first meeting with Ji-soo, Alexa said, “When I first saw him, he was so tall! I think he’s over six feet, and I’m so small, so I had to look way up at him. I wasn’t sure if he spoke English, so I was worried about a language barrier.”
She continued, “He looked so serious, like he had his game face on. Then, we were thrown into a scene right away, almost like a workshop, so I had to break the ice.”
Despite her initial apprehensions, Alexa noted that Ji-soo eventually warmed up. “He’s really nice, and little by little, he opened up to everyone and even started joking around with the rest of the cast.”
Directed by Randolph Longjas and produced by Unitel Straight Shooters Media Inc. (UXS), Mujigae is set to hit theaters nationwide on October 9.
