Manila, Philippines – Amid the observance of UNDAS 2025, Cavite lawmaker Kiko Barzaga drops anew hot allegations versus President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In a speech, Barzaga pointed out alleged plans of Marcos against the Dutertes, particularly against former President Rodrigo Duterte who is currently detained in ICC due to crimes agaisnt humanity charges.
Barzaga believes that with the series of dealys on Duterte’s trial before the ICC, Marcos has more “sinister” plans against the former president and his Family.
The lawmaker accused that Marcvos orchestrated the lack of medical attention given towards Duterte, aiming to weaken his health before he is even released from detention.
Last month, ICC junked the two interim release requests filed in Duterte’s behalf, citing that the former president’s influence may pose a risk to the security and welfare of the case’s witnesses, and that his medical needs are adequately attended while in ICC detention.
Before October ended, the Defense appealed before the ICC appeals court seeking reversal of the Pre-Trial Chamber I’s decision on denying Duterte an interim release.
Aside from this, Barzaga also accussed other officials of the country such as former House Speaker leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Senate President Tito Sotto, Senate President pro tempore Ping Lacson, and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro orchestrated Duterte’s arrest together with Marcos.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
