BI UNCOVERS SUSPECTED SCAM HUB IN PAMPANGA; 12 KOREAN NAT’Ls ARRESTED

Manila, Philippines – In an entrapment operation, the Bureau of Immigration authorities raided an office in Angeles City, Pampanga suspected to be a scam hub.

33 year old Korean Yu Jaemin was arrested, citing intelligence reports of his alleged involvement in scam operations.

The scam hub is suspected to be targeting fellow Koreans and possibly other foreign victims.

Upon entry, BI encountered 11 other Korean men stationed in individual work areas, manning operational activities.

BI reports claimed that the set-up of the office is similiar to those scamming hubs, pertaining to workstations and digital activities.

Further identity checks revealed that three of them are fugitives and has derogatory records, while several others are overstaying aliens.

During the entrapment opeations, another Korean man intecepted in the operations, claiming that he is a lessor or manager of the property.

BI reported that the Korean man claimed to be sent by Korean authorities, which was later denied by the Korean government.

The said individuals have been transported to Manila for booking and documentation, while their deportation cases are ongoing.

The Bureau is also eyeing further investigation on the background of the other Korean man to determine whether he is connected to the illegal activities and scam operations.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
