Manila, Philippines – The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (CDRRRMO) has declared a Red Alert Status in preparation for the possible impact of Tropical Depression “Wilma,” according to an official memorandum issued by the Borongan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Under the Red Alert Status, all emergency response units in the city including monitoring teams, rescue personnel, and other concerned agencies have been placed on heightened readiness.
The declaration aims to ensure quick and efficient response should flooding, heavy rains, or other hazards brought by the storm occur. Residents are continuously advised to monitor official announcements and avoid becoming complacent.
The CDRRMO remains on full alert for any developments in the weather situation as the tropical depression moves closer to the area.
