‘Boy Dila’ and Rider Reconcile After Wattah Wattah Festival Incident

The man known as “Boy Dila” from the Wattah Wattah festival in San Juan has met and reconciled with the rider he sprayed with a water gun, accompanied by teasing.

In a social media post on Friday, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora shared that Lexter Castro, a local resident, personally apologized to the rider during their meeting at San Juan City Hall on Thursday.

Castro offered the rider a helmet and a raincoat, which the rider accepted, according to the mayor.

“Let this serve as a lesson to all of us that we should always show respect to others and avoid doing anything that could harm others, whether physically or emotionally,” Zamora said.

At a recent press conference called by the mayor, Castro apologized to Zamora, the public, and the rider for his behavior during the city’s festival.

The incident, where Castro sprayed the rider with a water gun while sticking out his tongue, went viral on social media.

In his apology, Castro became emotional, stating that he had received threats and that his family had also been affected.

According to Zamora, he invited the rider to come to city hall, which the rider did on Thursday.

Due to complaints from the public about being sprayed while passing through San Juan without their consent, the local government plans to designate specific areas in the city where water spraying can take place.
