United States – Milwaukee Bucks made sudden changes towards the team, as they waived nine-time All-Star Damian Lillard.
After playing with the team for two years, it is now time to part ways.
Dame has his remaining $113 million Lillard’s contract, which was a major advantage for the Bucks to sign another star that can be the missing piece for them to win another championship.
The team used the opportunity to waive him and locate and sign another player, which led to acquiring Myles Turner.
Lillard averaged 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists in 43.9% FG the previous 2024-2025 NBA season.
Dame Time has been recovering his Torn Achilles injury after he got injured this previous playoff series against the Indiana Pacers.
The Bucks were eliminated with the Indiana Pacers at 1 – 4.
The 34-year old veteran is still uncertain on which team will land him next.
With the loss of center Brook Lopez, the team needs a defensive anchor in the paint.
Myles Turner brings all of the defensive capabilities to the table, considering he is much younger and also experienced competing in the Finals just this June.
Turner, who is just in his late 20s, can add rim protection and provide an offensive threat from the opponents.
He averaged 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks this NBA season.
During their postseason run to the Easter Conference Finals, he set a franchise record for 46 blocks, which made him a significant Free Agent for teams who are in need of a rim protector.
His previous team, Indiana Pacers, went on a historic playoff run as they almost managed to win their first-ever championship, but fell short in game seven.
He will now compete with a new, and fresh environment with the Milwaukee Bucks. He agreed to a four-year $107 million to sign with the Bucks this 2025-2026 NBA season. — Kyle Basa, Cotributor
