CA OKs APPOINTMENT OF SOME GABINET, MILITARY OFFICIALS

Manila, Philippines — Amid the still incomplete list of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s new Cabinet members after revamp, the Commission on Appointments approved this week appointments of some government officials.

On Tuesday, CA confirmed the ad interim appointment of Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon.

Last February, Dizon assumed the position, and is also among the Cabinet members that will be retained after Marcos rejected their courtesy resignations.

On Wednesday, CA also confirmed the ad interim appointment of two news commissioners of constitutional offices.

These were Civil Service Commission commissioner Luis Meinrado Pangulayan and Commission on Audit (COA) chief Douglas Michael Mallillin.

Following the confirmation of their appointment, they will serve until February 2032.

Aside from them, CA also approved the appointment of 86 senior military officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

On the other hand, CA deferred the appointments of two temporary Commission on elections Commissioners Noli Pipo and Maria Norina Tangaro-Casingal due to the still pending appeal from the Duterte Youth partylist blocking their appointment.
