Cebu Philippines — The members of the “Safety and Security Cluster” of the Palarong Pambansa 2024 underwent training in the “Incident Command System” (ICS).
This is as part of their preparation for the big event in the country where the city was chosen to hold it.
More than 40 policemen, firefighters as well as members of the Cebu City Transportations Office attended the ICS training.
Meanwhile, Harold Alcontin, head of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO), explained that the two-day ICS training was intended to teach members of the safety and security cluster how to respond in the event of an emergency.
In this regard, the local government extended an invitation to preventively-suspended Mayor Michael Lopez Rama to attend the upcoming Palarong Pambansa 2024 opening ceremony on July 9, in recognition of his contributions.
Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia emphasized that despite Mayor Rama’s current suspension from office, his contribution to the preparation for the event is a reason to be included in the celebration.
