CHINESE NATIONALS APPLYING FOR VISA MUST SUBMIT SOCIAL ID

Manila Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has tightened its regulation on visa policies for Chinese nationals applying for temporary visitor’s visas in the country.

In an advisory, the DFA said that among the agency’s requirements for new applicants is the Social Insurance Record Certificate of Chinese nationals.

“The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) informs the public that Chinese nationals applying for 9(a) Temporary Visitor’s Visa at Philippine Foreign Service Posts will be required to submit their Chinese Social Insurance Record Certificates,” according to the DFA notice.

The requirements needed should be registered at least six months before applying for visa.

Those who are currently enrolled in primary, secondary or college are not among those who will be searched for the said Social Insurance requirements, but they are required to submit proof that they are enrolled or retirees who are over 55 years old.

“Exceptions to the above-mentioned visa requirement will only apply to Chinese nationals currently enrolled in primary, secondary, or college education who will be required to submit proof of enrollment, and retirees above 55 years old,” the DFA added.

The requested documents are just part of the continuation of the DFA in their visa police and regulation to ensure the safe and effective entry of foreigners into the country.

May 28th was when the DFA implemented the additional document for all Chinese Nationals to request a visa at the Philippine embassy.

A result of a reports of fake documents from Chinese nationals who are currently in the country, that are among reportedly being involved in human trafficking, prostitution, kidnapping and fraud in the country.
