MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Wednesday the extension of the online reactivation of voters’ registration until September 25.
“Yung registration ng ating reactivation online, pinalawig hanggang September 25,” said Comelec spokesperson Rex John Laudiangco.
This move aims to reduce the queues at registration sites.
Voters need to reactivate their registration if they have failed to vote in two consecutive elections.
Through the online reactivation process, voters can download a reactivation form from the Comelec website and schedule an online conference. This method is also available for those who wish to update their place of residence and registration area.
So far, Comelec has processed 6.4 million applications from new voters and those seeking to reactivate their registration.
Comelec has already registered 2.6 million new voters, he added.
