CONG. PULONG DUTERTE FIRES ‘SELECTIVE JUSTICE’ ON GOV’T FLOOD CONTROL MESS INVESTIGATION

Manila, Philippines – With the further disclosure of anomalies in relation to the flood control projects, some of the biggest names in the Philippine government have been linked in the issue as well.

The President himself and the first family have been tagged by former lawmaker Zaldy Co in the issue of budget insertions and other corruption claims.

In Davao City, known territory of the Dutertes, lies an alleged over P4 billion anomalous projects from 2019 to 2022.

This is still aside from other lawmakers and government officials being linked in the flood control mess and corruption.

Despite the crackdown, Davao 1st District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte criticized the government investigation which he called “selective justice.”

In an official statement, Duterte hit the alleged selective accountability imposed by the government on its investigation of the anomaly.

Duterte said that since his family was dragged into the controversy, the investigation was loud and aggresive.

He noted that however, when the administration’s allies were linked, the investigations “magically” disappeared.

“When the flood-control scandal first broke out, these “operators” were noisy, arrogant, and confident. Then when names close to Malacañang started surfacing, they vanished like bubbles—no subpoenas, no follow-ups, no consequences. Suddenly nobody wants to talk. Suddenly nobody remembers. Suddenly nobody knows anything,”  Pulong said.

He also pointed out why other individuals were charged almost immediately, while the President, his family members, and allies who were allegedly involved in the issues remain walking around free.

He further described this as an unfair investigation, and that this is cowardice from the government’s end.

Duterte, meanwhile, urged the administration to not be selective in holding individuals accountable from this issue.

“To those in power: If you truly want accountability, then apply it to ALL—including your friends, relatives, and political minions who think they are above scrutiny.

Filipinos are tired of a government that demands accountability from everyone except its own allies. If you want truth, then stop running from it,” he stated.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
