DFA files diplomatic protest against China

Manila Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs took issue with China’s interference with the Philippine vessel and the Philippines filed a Diplomatic Protest against China.

Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo, confirmed in his statement they filed the Diplomatic protest against China, last week.

Manalo mentioned that he had talked with Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian but Manalo did not share what they discussed with the congress.

In spite of this, Seaman First Class Jeffrey Facundo shared with the senate that his finger was cut off by the China Coast Guard on June 17, 2024.

According to Facundo, the CCG’s intention was to attack the Philippine Vessel and it was not an accident.

However, they chose not to retaliate because they did not want the CCG’s interference with the Philippine vessel to escalate.

According to Philippine Navy regulations, they will only fire if fired upon first, he added
