MANILA PHILIPPINES – Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos announced that the Philippine National Police (PNP) has strengthened it’s cyber patrolling in the cyber space
for the protection of children online.
According to Abalos, this is part of the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., related to protecting children who are victims of online child abuse.
Abalos also assures the authorities that all those who abuse online, will be held accountable.
The official also added that officials who fail to respond to reports of online abuse of youth will be punished.
That is why the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has strengthened their relationship between the barangays to respond and to reports all the sexual abuse of young people that happens online.
As part of the government’s campaign regarding the protection of children online, various government agencies have joined forces including the Philippine National Police, Department of Justice, Department Social Welfare and Development, and others.
