Manila, Philippines – Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. has maintained that there is no coup plan under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Teodoro emphasized this and insisted that the state of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is stable.
DN Chief noted that the clear answer to the current issue is project management, addressing infrastructure, and holding those involved in corruption accountable.
The AFP has denied allegations regarding the coup.
AFP Public Affairs Office (PAO) Chief Col. Xeres Trinidad explained that their loyalty does not depend on politics and personality but on the Constitution and the welfare of the Filipino people.
The president on Wednesday reminded the soldiers to stand up for their duties under the constitution.
Alyansa ng Bantay sa Kapayapaan at Demokrasya Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jose Antonio Goitia, meanwhile, insisted that the soldiers know their duty to defend the country.
Noting that this is the foundation of the military’s unity, underpinning their loyalty to their sworn duty.
