Manila, Philippines – The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is working hard to help Filipino families affected by the recent series of tropical cyclones in the country.
DHSUD Undersecretary for Disaster Response Administrative and Finance Services Randy Escolango said they have intensified efforts to immediately provide assistance to homeowners whose properties were damaged or destroyed by storms through the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP) and Housing Materials and Essentials (HOMES).
He said that they will focus on shelter assistance for those who have been victims of calamities whose homes have been destroyed.
Under the IDSAP program, houses partially damaged by the typhoon will receive PHP10,000 in cash assistance and houses that are completely destroyed will receive PHP30,000.
Escolango added that aside from IDSAP, the agency also provides home materials and essentials to victims of natural calamities.
