Manila, Philippines – On the first day of Misa De Gallo on December 16, 2025 the Philippine National Police (PNP) stated that they have not yet monitored any security threats against the attendees and the churches across different parts of the country.
According to Public Safety Division Chief PCol. Julius Domingo, the entire PNP force is on standby to ensure peaceful conditions on the first day of the ‘Misa de Gallo’.
Domingo said that based on their intelligence, there are no threats to the churches, and due to the agencies currently on ‘heightened alert,’ the PNP personnel expect an increase in their workload during that time. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will also be a partner in this effort to maintain peaceful and safe communities.
According to PNP data, around 70,000 police officers will be deployed in various areas to guard security this holiday season.
Meanwhile, amidst the announcement of a 4-day ceasefire by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), the PNP assured that the agency will maintain its current security and operational posture.
According to PNP Spokesperson and Public Information Office (PIO) Chief PBGen. Randulf Tuaño, the ceasefire will begin at 12:00 midnight of December 25 and will last until January 1 of the following year.
He added that the PNP is set to announce their decision regarding the ceasefire after the leadership meeting scheduled for today.
