FISHER FOLK JOINS SENATORIAL SLATE OF MAKABAYAN IN 2025 POLLS

Manila Philippines — Another representative from the marginalized sector has announced his bid in the senate for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.

Ronnel Arambulo, the spokesperson of the National Federation of Small Fisherfolk of the Philippines or known as Pambansang Lakas ng Mamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA), expressed his desire to run for the senate.

Arambulo is known as a fisherman who is ready to stand the rights of every fisher folks in the country.

PAMALAKAYA is among the fisher folk groups that continues to condemns presence of Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) which affects the livelihood of Filipino fishermen.

Arambulo is the fifth personality named by the Makakabayan Coalition to be among their 12 senatorial slate in the upcoming 2025 Midterm Elections.

The Makabayan has already said that they will field 12 senatorial candidates in the upcoming elections.

Makabayan recently confirmed the bid of former lawmaker Liza Maza in the Senate, including Kilusang Mayo Uno Secretary General Jerome Adonis, two lawmakers Gabriela Women’s Party Representative Arlene Brosas and Alliance of Concerned (ACT) Teachers Partylist Representative France Castro.

Makabayan is expected to complete the twelve slates in the senate, in the coming months before the filing of the certificate of candidacy in October.
