Manila, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has launched an online application system for student visas and permits, simplifying the process for foreign nationals seeking education in the Philippines.
“This is a priority project of the BI to make things easier and more secure for foreign students to apply for their visas and permits,” BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said in a statement on Wednesday, December 18.
Viado explained that the new system is a step toward modernizing BI services through automation.
With the system, it allows accredited schools to directly file applications with the BI on behalf of their foreign students, reducing paperwork and streamlining the process.
By digitizing the service, the BI aims to enhance efficiency and convenience for applicants while aligning with the country’s broader goals of improving access to quality education for international students.
