A colossal squid, measuring up to 15 feet in length—longer than two adults—astonished fishermen in Negros Occidental.
According to Entia’s estimate, the giant squid weighs around 50 kilograms. This is reportedly the largest squid ever seen by the local fishermen.
Entia’s group did not capture the giant squid they encountered at sea. Instead, after filming the encounter, they promptly released the squid back into the ocean.
Giant squids, like the one recorded in the video, are among the largest invertebrates in the world and can grow up to 43 feet in length.
Experts have revealed that giant squids are inedible due to their high concentration of ammonium chloride, which aids in their buoyancy and imparts a taste reminiscent of rotten meat.
However, one netizen suggested that the ink from the giant squid could still be utilized and sold in the market.
