‎GOV-ELECT ARAGONES KICKS OFF ‘BAWAL ANG MATARAY SA OSPITAL NG LAGUNA’ POLICY

Laguna, Philippines – On her first term as governor-elect in Laguna, Sol Aragones signed her first Executive Order (E.O.) which prohibits all health facility staff in the province in showing rude behavior towards patients in public hospitals.

‎The said policy is already being implemented in various health facility including Laguna Provincial and District hospitals, health centers, even in Rural Health Units, banning any rude behaviors from health facility staff.

‎”Bawal po magtaray ang mga empleyado, bahagi po ng provision na ito ay sinasabi rin na dapat nakangiti ang mga kawani ng gobyerno,” Aragones explained.

‎She visited JP Rizal Hospital in Calamba, Laguna to personally post ‘Bawal ang mataray sa Ospital ng Laguna’ poster that aims to encourage health government facility to treat patient with care and respect.

‎In line with this, the policy was rooted from the experiences of people who then received unjust treatment coming from health staff, especially to low-income patients.

‎Moreover, anyone who will violate this policy will face consequences, while rewards will be given by the institution to those who excels in implementing this policy.

‎”Kung may parusa, may reward naman sa institution ang nagpapakita ng kabaitan sa paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan,” she added.

‎In addition, Department of Health Secretary (DOH) Ted Herbosa gave his support to the newly elected governor through personally visiting the said hospital along with former DOH Usec. Eric Tayag, and other health officials.

‎Meanwhile, Governor Aragones pledged to help health workers by deploying more nurses and doctors in Laguna hospitals. – Maica Villegas, Contributor
