MARIKINA REP. QUIMBO SAYS UNRESOLVED HOUSE MR MAY DELAY IMPEACHMENT PROCESSES

While it may seem to be a smooth transition, Marikina City 2nd district Rep. Romero “Miro” Quimbo beleives that tackling impeachment complaints this year may be a little rough for the lower chamber.

This is amid the still pending motion for reconsideration filed by the House of Representatives regarding the Supreme Court’s decision on declaring the 4th impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte as unconsitutional.

Quimbo emphasized that the House’s next steps still depends on tghe High Court’s resolution of the said motion.

He says this will be the basis of the House’s rules and regulations on impeachment process, which may delay upcoming impeachment complaints.

Meanwhile, in regards to the impeachment complaint itself, Quimbo says he have not read the full copy of the complaint.

The impeachment complaint are under the grounds of alleged graft and corruption, culpable violation of the constitution, and betrayal of public trust.

Quimbo howver expressed a clear position on the matter: taht impeachment complaints must be based off strong evidence.

He said that no matter if the complaint is against Marcos or Duterte, the evidence should carry the impeachment complaint as it challenges the election results.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
