ICC EXTENDS DUE DATE FOR WITNESSES DOCS IN FPRRD CASE

The Hague, Netherlands — The International Criminal Court has granted another deadline extension requested by the Prosecution to disclose the materials related to the witnesses declared on former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest warrant.

Based on the May 20 decision of the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber I, it has approved the extension request of the prosecution, extending the time limit until July 1.

The chamber originally set the deadline for the disclosure of the arrest warrant materials on March 21. A day before this, it approved the extension request, delaying the submission until May 9.

The Prosecution compiled and submitted documents of some relevant witnesses, but asked for a second extension to complete the disclosure of all the witness materials.

This was granted on the Chamber’s May 20 decision.

The prosecution also asked the chamber to allow the application to withhold the identities of the witnesses until June 20.

ICC also granted this, noting that the application for redaction of witness identities are until June 16, while responses to these applications are until June 20.
