Pasig City, Philippines — Amidst the questions on whether she’s still part of the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate, re-electionist Senator Imee Marcos says she’s okay with it if she really was removed from the line up.
In an interview on the sidelines of a general assembly of a Pasig City cooperative on Sunday, Marcos said that she is fine even if she will be removed from the slate, reiterating her independence as a candidate.
This is despite her being “clueless” on whether she is still part of the administration-backed senatorial slate, after being omitted twice on President Ferdinand “BongBong” Marcos Jr.’ endorsement speech in the recent campaign rallies.
About this matter, Marcos admitted that she has not talked to her brother yet, also saying that she’s not too bothered with it.
She said that she is now focused on the Senate hearings on the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, to even think about the said matter.
Marcos, however, clarified that her initiative for the Senate hearing is not to get an endorsement from Vice President Sara Duterte.
