Manila, Philippines – The Philippine government continues to repatriate an increasing number of Filipinos affected by the Israeli-Iran conflict in the Middle East.
Today (June 17,2025), 20 Filipinos and 23 children returned home after being stranded in Dubai, UAE, also due to the cancellation of flights there caused by the war in the Middle East.
Personnel from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) welcomed the Filipinas at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
According to DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, the Filipinos were scheduled to go to Jordan with their children, but it was delayed due to the tensions between the Israeli Defense Forces and the Iranian Forces.
The Filipinos who were repatriated were provided with financial assistance from the national government.
Yesterday, 18 OFWs have been repatriated from Tel Aviv and Jordan.
The situation in Iran remains at alert level 3, the second highest alert level imposed by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) due to tensions in the country.
