ISRAEL STRIKES GAZA AFTER ACCUSING HAMAS OF CEASEFIRE VIOLATION

Israel launched fresh strikes across Gaza on Tuesday after accusing Hamas of breaking the ceasefire brokered earlier this month by US President Donald Trump.

According to Gaza’s health authorities, at least 26 people were killed, including civilians in Gaza City and Khan Younis.

This new attack was confirmed after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office took to social media that Netanyahu had indeed ordered the attacks following what Israel called a clear violation of the truce by Hamas.

According to Reuters, the Israeli military has not issued an official statement yet.

It can be recalled Israel launched a wave of airstrikes across the enclave last weekend.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the strikes were retaliation for an earlier anti-tank missile attack of Hamas from Rafah in southern Gaza that killed two of its soldiers.

Hamas, however, denied this and said it remains committed to the 20-point agreement.

Tensions also rose after Israel accused Hamas of handing over the wrong remains of an Israeli hostage.

Hamas insisted that they were still recovering bodies in Gaza.

However, they accused Netanyahu of using the issue as an excuse to resume attacks, international reports claimed.
