ISRAEL STRIKES YEMEN’S CAPITAL AFTER HOUTHI MISSILE ATTACK

Israeli strikes have hit Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Sunday after Yemen’s Houthis fired at Israel.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its strikes targeted a military compound containing the nation’s presidential palace, along with two power plants and a fuel depot in Houthi-controlled territory.

In a statement, Israel military described the action as retaliation for “repeated attacks” by Houthi forces last Friday: “The strikes were conducted in response to repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel and its civilians, including the launching of surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs toward Israeli territory in recent days.”

The said strike killed six people and wounded at least 86, according to Houthi health officials.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the group, saying it was already paying a heavy price against Israel and would continue to pay a very heavy price following their aggression.

Houthi leaders have confirmed that they indeed fired a ballistic missile toward Israel in their latest attack, saying it was done in support with Palestinians under Israel’s continued assault.

Consequently regardless of Israel’s response, a senior Houthi figure also vowed that the group would continue its attacks and continue support for Gaza, “whatever the sacrifices.”
