J-POP STAR GUILTY OF INDECENT ASSAULT

A Hong Kong court has found Japanese pop star Kenshin Kamimura guilty of indecent assault against his interpreter.

The incident allegedly took place after the J-pop star’s fan meeting in Hong Kong on the first day of March, according to the testimony of the victim, identified only as X.

Kamimura, a former member of the boy group One N’ Only, was said to have committed the lewd acts during a celebratory dinner at a restaurant in the Mong Kok district.

In her court testimony, X said Kamimura moved to sit beside her and repeatedly touched her inappropriately on the sensitive part of her thigh.

He also allegedly invited her to go to the bathroom with him and asked personal questions involving her boyfriend.

X said she resisted these advances, but even after Kamimura later apologized, he continued his inappropriate behavior.

The court stated that Kamimura’s actions clearly showed disrespect and carried an obvious sexual undertone.

He was fined the equivalent of around 100,000 in Philippine pesos but was spared jail time following his lawyer’s plea for a financial penalty instead.

The defense also claimed that the singer’s actions may have been influenced by alcohol.

Previously, in the same trial last April, he pleaded not guilty over the case.
