LILLARD RETURNS TO TRAILBLAZERS

He is returning home.

National Basketball Association (NBA) Insider Shams Charania announces that Damian Lillard is going back to where he first started — the Portland Trailblazers.

After being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks, Lillard signed a three-year, $40 million contract on the Trailblazers for the upcoming 2025-2026 NBA season.

He is returning to his first team in the NBA, whereas fans watched and witnessed his greatness: his clutch buckets, and buzzer beaters mostly on playoff time — hence the nickname “Dame Time” every time he has the ball during clutch moments.

Together with a group of young guns including Yang Hansen, and Scoot Henderson, the organization are in the rebuilding phase wherein they will develop their players’ skillset before competing in the playoffs again.

However, with his impact and influence on and off the court, he can manage to mentor the rookies on how to level up their game.

The 35-year old Dame averaged 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists in his last year on the Bucks before getting waived.

There is still no news about when he will suit up for the Blazers as he tore his left achilles this previous round one playoffs against the Indiana Pacers. —Kyle Basa, Contributor
