LRTA PERSONNEL TRAINED TO USE AEDs AT ALL LRT-2 STATIONS

Manila, Philippines – The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) assured that their personnel assigned to each train station have undergone thorough training to assist passengers needing help in unexpected incidents and medical emergencies.

This includes the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units present at every LRT‑2 station to provide immediate first aid to anyone who may suffer sudden cardiac arrest.

The AED units are reportedly carried by train operators, as well as the train marshals or security guards inside the train.

There are also AEDs at the Passenger Assistance Office in each station.

The units can reportedly give voice instructions on how to use them properly.

Meanwhile, it is worth remembering that LRT‑2 is the very first rail line in the country to have full AED equipment on all its trains and stations.

These AEDs were donated by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

A simulation exercise involving the trained response personnel of LRT‑2 was also conducted.
