MAJORITY OF FILIPINOS CONFIDENT THAT ELECTION 2025 RESULTS ARE ‘TRUE, ACCURATE’ — OCTA

Manila, Philippines – Almost four months after the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE), discussions on the accuracy of the results of the poll remain to be questioned by some.

Presently, there are still pending appeals doubting whether the results of the polls were accurate, giving the reported incidents of anomalies and irregularities on voting machines and receipts.

Despite this, the majority of Filipinos expressed confidence over the results of the election.

Based on OCTA Research’s Tugon ng masa Survey, 83% or 8 out of 10 Filipinos believe that the election results were true and accurate, expressing trust to the candidates declared as winners.

Highest trust scores were from Central Visayas, with 99%, followed by Mimaropa at 97%, followed by Bicol Region, Negros Island, and Zamboanga.

The lowest trust ratings were from the Cordillera Administrative Region with 24%.

Based on the same survey, 64% of Filipinos agreed that the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) were able to ensure a free, fair, and credible 2025 elections, with 4% disagreeing.

On the other hand, 79% said that COMELEC should find ways to prevent cheating and manipulation attempts in the succeeding elections.

The said survey was conducted on July 12-17 with 1200 registered voters across the country as participants.—Mia Layaguin, Eurotv News
