Manila, Philippines – The wide-open grounds of Quirino Grandstand and Luneta Park in Manila are now clear and spacious.
This follows the two-day peacefully rally organized by Iglesia ni Cristo for their call for “Transparency for a Better Democracy” and an end to the widespread corruption in the country.
According to a post shared by the Manila LGU, the tents set up by INC members used as their temporary shelters over the past two days during the event have already been taken down.
Vendors around both locations have also cleared out, along with the police and security personnel previously deployed in the area.
The Manila local government stated that the Department of Public Services immediately carried out a sweeping operation at Quirino Grandstand and Luneta to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for visitors.
Meanwhile, Manila LGU did not expect that the INC’s peaceful rally ended in just two days, despite their earlier announcement that it would run for three days.
Because of this, face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private schools in Manila remain suspended today.
Students, however, will return to in-person classes tomorrow.
