This was emphasized by Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Claire Castro, following the meeting of the chief executive with congressional leaders during the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) on Tuesday.

Castro said the president is seeing the political landscape, where politicians are gaining power.

Castro noted that the president also wants the public to have stronger power.

The palace also responded to why the president does not considers signing the bills as urgent, according to Castro, part of the president’s mandate in Congress is to carefully study the bills that are among the priorities to be passed under the LEDAC.

Yesterday, the president ordered Congressional Leaders to pass four top priority measures under LEDAC.

These include the Anti-Dynasty Bill, Independent People’s Commission bill; Party-list System Reform bill; and the Citizens Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability or CADENA bill.
