Manila, Philippines – P26.5 Billion from the total P255.5 Billion from previously lodged 2026 flood control projects is being allocated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the education sector.
During the President’s attendance at the National Teacher’s Month and World Teacher’s Day in Pasay City on Monday, the President assured the future of the next generation and the entire country.
For this reason, the President insists that the Department of Education deserves P26.55 billion funds for the expansion of DepEd’s technological equipment.
And allocated funds for additional classrooms, child nutrition, compensation for teachers among others.
Aside from DEPED, P9.3 billion will go to the Commission on Education (CHED), one billion pesos for the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and almost half a billion pesos (P450M) for the Philippine Science High School System.
Nearly P89.2 Billion will be allocated to the Department of Health and PhilHealth, P44.3 Billion to Agriculture and the National Irrigation Administration, P35 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Deployment, P19.2 billion to the Department of Labor and Employment, P17-Billion to other agencies and P7.4 Billion to the Commission on Elections.
Amid the investigation into linked corruption in flood control projects by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), the president stressed the need of solid evidences against those named as involved in the anomalies.—Alvin Pelobello, Eurotv News
