Marcos Returns from UAE Visit, Secures Key Bilateral Agreements

Manila, Philippines — “Short, but highly productive,”

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. returned to the Philippines on Wednesday (November 27, 2024) from a one-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In his statement, Marcos highlighted the importance of the visit, noting the signing of several bilateral agreements in different areas such as: culture, energy transition, artificial intelligence, digital economy, legal cooperation, investment, etc.

Marcos also expressed gratitude for the UAE’s care and respect for the Filipino community, especially His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“I thanked Sheikh Al Nahyan for understanding that my visit had to be cut short, given the need to attend to relief and reconstruction activities in communities devastated by successive typhoons,” the president added.

The trip marked the 50th anniversary of strong diplomatic ties between the two nations and focused on expanding cooperation in various sectors.
