Nadia Montenegro recently revealed that actor Baron Geisler is the father of her teenage daughter, sharing her story in an interview with Boy Abunda.
During an episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” aired on Friday, Nadia openly discussed various personal topics, including her late partner, politician Macario “Boy” Asistio Jr., and the paternity of her youngest daughter. She praised Asistio, whom she had been with for 29 years, highlighting their mutual respect and understanding.
Nadia and Asistio had seven children together, meeting when Nadia was 17 and Asistio was already the mayor of Caloocan. Asistio passed away in February 2017 at the age of 80.
Boy Abunda then asked Nadia directly about Baron Geisler’s paternity. Nadia confirmed, saying, “Yes, Sophia is turning 18 in August and that’s why I’m here. It’s not for views, it’s not to trend, but to put an exclamation to everything.”
Nadia explained that 17 years ago, someone revealed her personal life without considering the impact on her and her children. She expressed frustration that the topic has resurfaced now, affecting her daughter.
Nadia disclosed that Asistio was aware of Sophia’s paternity and had asked her to keep it private until after his passing to protect Sophia’s perception of him. Nadia respected his wishes, and her daughter always knew who her father was.
Nadia also mentioned that although Sophia and Baron had communicated through social media, they never met in person. She expressed disappointment over Baron’s behavior, sharing that he sent drunk messages to Sophia, which she found unhelpful.
A few months earlier, Baron had hinted at having a daughter with another woman during an interview with Ogie Diaz but did not disclose names. Nadia emphasized the difficulties her daughter faced, including bullying at school after the revelation.
“This is my story, Tito Boy. No one has the right to tell my story,” Nadia stated, wanting to end the speculation surrounding her family life. She affirmed her commitment to protecting her daughter, saying, “I want this to end because my daughter’s turning 18 soon. She does not need to come out of this world and answer questions for her mother. So, yes, I’m happy. I have a child named Sophia and she does not need anything else in this world because she’s complete.”
