Gatchalian Emphasizes Effective Implementation of Matatag Curriculum
Meanwhile, Senator Win Gatchalian urged DepEd to ensure the effective implementation of the Matatag Curriculum.
He stressed the importance of clear linkages between the curriculum and pre-service teacher training.
He added that it is also necessary to show the full support to teachers.
Furthermore, Senator Gatchalian filed Senate Resolution No. 972 to investigate DepEd’s textbook procurement after the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) found that only 27 out of 90 textbooks for Grades 1 to 10 were purchased since 2013.
DepEd earlier promised to deliver 80% of textbooks for Grades 1, 4, and 7 by July 2024.
