Manila, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in recent data, November 27, reported that over 2,800 individuals have been successfully reintegrated into their communities through the Pag-abot Program.
The program initially assisted 3,544 individuals in street situations. Of these, more than 2,800 have since returned to their hometowns, but also received support including medical care, transportation, and livelihood opportunities.
The Pag-abot Program was institutionalized earlier this year through Executive Order No. 52, which also established an Inter-Agency Committee to streamline and improve the delivery of services to vulnerable individuals.
DSWD also iterated the importance of collaboration with local government units and other agencies to ensure these individuals are supported long-term.
